Meet Natalie, a passionate dancer originally from Mexico. She started her dance journey at 13, training in Jazz, ballet, drama, and singing, which led her to graduate with a BA in Ballroom Education from New Mexico State University. With 7 years of professional dance, competition, and instruction at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, she triumphed in American Rhythm and American Smooth divisions nationwide. Today, Natalie enjoys life in sunny Orlando with her husband and furry companion

About Ballroom Dances

Waltz

The Waltz is a graceful and romantic dance characterized by its smooth, flowing movements and rise and fall motion. It is often considered the "mother of all ballroom dances" and is danced to slow, 3/4 time music.

Foxtrot

The Foxtrot is a smooth and elegant dance that is often associated with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. It features long, continuous movements across the dance floor and incorporates elements of walking and gliding.

Tango

The Tango is a passionate and dramatic dance that originated in Argentina. It is characterized by its sharp, staccato movements and intricate footwork. Tango music is typically in 2/4 or 4/4 time and has a distinctive rhythmic pattern.

Cha-Cha

The Cha-Cha is a lively and flirtatious dance that originated in Cuba. It features quick, syncopated steps and playful hip movements. The Cha-Cha is danced to upbeat Latin music with a strong, infectious rhythm.

Rumba

The Rumba is a sensual and romantic dance that originated in Cuba. It is danced in a slow, controlled manner with a focus on hip movements and expression of emotion. Rumba music is typically slow and romantic, with a Latin beat.

Salsa

Salsa is a vibrant and energetic dance that originated in the Caribbean. It features fast footwork, rhythmic hip movements, and intricate turns and spins. Salsa music is characterized by its infectious rhythm and lively percussion.

Swing

Swing dancing encompasses a variety of styles including East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and Lindy Hop. It is known for its upbeat and lively music, energetic footwork, and playful, improvisational style. Swing dancing is often associated with the jazz and big band era.

Latin Dances (Samba, Mambo, Paso Doble)

In addition to Cha-Cha and Rumba, there are several other Latin dances that you may offer classes for. These include the Samba, a lively Brazilian dance; Mambo, a fast-paced Cuban dance; and Paso Doble, a dramatic Spanish dance inspired by the bullfight.
